Occupied Jerusalem - SANA

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and put pressure on the Israeli occupation to stop its continuous violations of the right of sanctities in the occupied Palestinian territories and hold the perpetrators accountable, the most recent of which was the demolition of the entrance stairs to the Yusufia cemetery in occupied Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry stated in a statement this evening that the occupation’s assault on the Yusufiya cemetery yesterday and the demolition of its entrance stairs leading to the Al-Aqsa Mosque comes as part of the implementation of its settlement plans in an attempt to obliterate the identity of the Holy City, change its features and Judaize it.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry indicated that the occupation had previously demolished graves and their graves in the Ma'man Allah cemetery in occupied Jerusalem as part of the continuous Judaization operations aimed at changing the reality of the Holy City and imposing new facts inside it.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry stressed the need for the specialized international organizations, foremost of which is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Human Rights Council, to assume their political, legal and moral responsibilities towards the occupation's attacks on Christian and Islamic holy sites in the occupied Palestinian territories, and to take the necessary measures to stop them in accordance with international law and legitimate decisions.
