It's official.
30 years after his illustrious father Michael, seven-time world champion, Mick Schumacher will compete in his first Formula 1 season in 2021. The 21-year-old German has signed up to the American team Haas, which is completely renewing its driver duo for the next year.
Tuesday, Haas had indeed announced the arrival of Nikita Mazepin, son of Russian billionaire Dmitry Mazepin.
As it had been announced to them several months ago, Romain Grosjean, convalescent in Bahrain, and Kevin Magnussen lose their seat.
In contention for the GP2 title that he could win next weekend at Sakhir, Mick Schumacher was to drive for the first time in Formula 1, at the wheel of an Alfa Romeo, during free practice at the Grand Price of the Eifel on October 9th.
But the weather conditions got the better of the first day of testing.
