Bar Ilan opposes the metro route planned to pass under the campus: "Research damage"
The university claims that the planning and construction committee did not take into account the laboratories in its area, which contain sensitive equipment whose operation is expected to be affected by the works.
The committee is promoting the southern alternative to the route, due to expectations of opposition from the Bnei Brak municipality due to work on Saturday.
"Surrender to bullying," the institution said

Bar Ilan University announced today (Tuesday) that it intends to file an objection to the southern alternative of the M2 metro line, which is planned to pass within its boundaries.
This, the university claims, is due to the impairment of the proper operation of the laboratories at the institution.
The line, which is intended to connect Petah Tikva and Tel Aviv, is planned to begin in the Purple Industrial Area and end at Wolfson Hospital in Holon, with two alternatives to the route in the university area.
One south, through the university, and the other north, through Bnei Brak.
The Planning and Construction Committee, which is responsible for planning the line, argues that the reason for prioritizing the southern alternative of the line is "the difficulty of producing certainty for the period of execution on the northern route."
The intention is probably to fear the opposition of the Bnei Brak municipality and its residents to the excavation work on the line, which is also scheduled to take place on Saturday.

The University believes that the southern route, as entrusted to the Planning and Building Commission, will create irreparable harm to academic research and sensitive laboratories in the fields of medicine, biological sciences and exact sciences.
"Surrender to the bullying of the state," Zohar Yinon, the university's director general, called it. Held before the execution of the works, assuming disturbances concerning residential or commercial.
Also, the vast majority of the lab buildings in the southern part of the campus will be affected by electromagnetic inductors that disrupt the measurement accuracy of the lab equipment.
The university says the labs need a radius of at least 300 meters without such sources of inspiration.

Due to the fact that the university is confined to its territory, and the laboratories cannot be moved to another land location, Bar Ilan University emphasized that this is not a case where compensation or land alternative can be a solution as proposed in other cases along the route.
