Healthcare personnel and nursing home residents will receive the COVID-19 vaccine first

CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices voted 13-1 to recommend that those two groups be given priority in the first stage of vaccination, when doses are expected to be very limited.


Health workers and residents of homes for the elderly who require special care will have priority to get vaccinated when the first vaccines against the coronavirus become available, a panel of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States decided on Tuesday. .

The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices voted 13-1 to recommend that these two groups be given priority in the first stage of vaccination,

when doses are expected to be very limited.

These two priority groups encompass about 24 million Americans. The total population in the country is approximately 330 million.
