Jade Dynasty, the comics publishing house founded by the famous cartoonist Huang Yulang, was sued by another publishing house Comic Culture Co., Ltd. earlier due to copyright issues of "Dragon Tiger Gate".
Manga Culture filed a petition to the High Court yesterday (1st) for an order to wind up the Jade Dynasty.
The case has been scheduled for the first hearing on March 3 next year.
Manga Culture Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Cultural Transmission, filed a petition to the High Court as a creditor, requesting an order to wind up Jade Dynasty Publishing Co., Ltd.
Manga Culture filed a lawsuit against Jade Dynasty in October this year, accusing the other party of authorizing the publication of "Dragon Tiger Gate" and "The New Dragon Tiger Gate".
However, Jade Dynasty did not pay royalties according to the contract, and Manga Culture demanded 2.64 million yuan from the other party.
In addition, Huang Yulang and Wenhua Chuanxin also filed lawsuits over the trademark of "Little Mobster".
When the case was heard earlier, the Jade Dynasty agreed to suspend the publication of "Little Hooligan".
