Donald Trump made it a US election campaign topic: At 78, Democrat Joe Biden is far too old to be president.
Now Biden injured himself - is it good food for Trump?
Joe Biden
took office at the
age of 78
- making history the oldest elected
President of
the
United States
.
During the election campaign,
Donald Trump raised
Biden's age - and allegedly poor health -
as a problem
.
Now
Biden
has injured himself - and Trump reacts promptly on
Twitter
.
Washington - The
incumbent
US President Donald Trump
defamed
as "
Sleepy Joe
"

his Democratic challenger
Joe Biden *
repeatedly in the election campaign *.
Too quiet, too boring and, above all, too old for the office of
President of the United States of America
is his rival, so
Trump's
constant slogan.
But with his calm demeanor,
Biden
made
the race for the
White House in the end
and is now, even if Trump still does not want to accept that, as "President-Elect".
But one result could
reignite Trump's
assumptions about the age and health of the Democrat: It was announced on Sunday that
Biden is
undergoing medical treatment and is injured.
The
newly elected US president
suffered
a
fracture
on his right foot
while playing with his dog on Saturday
.
This is what his doctor said in an official statement.
The 78-year-old slipped
while playing with the

Will President-Elect Joe Biden now be sworn in with crutches?
Even before
Biden's
doctor's visit, his team had publicly announced the examination by an orthopedic surgeon "as a precautionary measure" - probably to
immediately counteract
renewed, wild speculations about alleged
health problems of the Democrat
.
After a
computed tomography
, the
Biden team is
now clear: his
doctor Kevin O'Connor
determined "hairline (small) fractures of the metatarsus" after the examination.
Because of the damaged
ankle
,
Biden will
"probably need an orthopedic boot for several weeks," said
O'Connor
.

Barack Obama

the Scottish terrier Barney,

the Labrador Buddy.
After
Trump moved in
here as the first president in more than a century without a dog, many Americans are now looking forward to the
Champ
and
Major
, who is also a trained rescue dog.

Twitter: Trump comments on Biden's injury
Biden
is to be
sworn in
as the new
US President
on January 20
*.
There are still a few weeks until then, so that the
Democrat
could recover and perhaps even
take part in the ceremony
without an
orthopedic shoe
.
Trump
, however, still does not want to surrender and continues to speak of “massive electoral fraud” - without presenting any reliable evidence.
In view of
Biden's
unfortunate injury and that
Trump is
otherwise not at a loss for caustic comments, the
incumbent
would have been expected to
have a completely different
reaction
.
Because his post on
surprised:
Get well soon!
https://t.co/B0seiO84ld
- Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 30, 2020
“Get well soon!”, Writes
Trump
and
sincerely
wishes
Biden
a speedy recovery.
His
Tweet
shows a video of the US news channel
NBC
, can be seen on how
Biden
limping his
orthopedic practice
leaves.
No mockery, no mockery, almost conciliatory words Trump hits here.
Only the next few weeks will
tell whether he will now
recognize
Biden's election victory in a
similarly peaceful
manner and vacate the executive chair in the White House.
Meanwhile
,
Biden
continues - despite his injury - unwaveringly with the preparations for
taking over government
. On Sunday evening, almost at the same time as his
injury became known
, he announced the heads of the designated
communications team of the White House
.
Jen Psaki
, for example, is set to become Biden's government
spokeswoman
, since she was, among other things, communications director of the White House and spokeswoman for the State Department under President Obama.
