During Advent during the Corona period, deacon Christian Pastötter and the Fraunberger Kindergottesdienst (Kigo) team came up with the “Post for God” campaign for the entire Reichenkirchen / Maria Thalheim parish.

At the beginning of Advent on Sunday, the deacon presented the post campaign for children and their parents at the service in Reichenkirchen and at the family service in Fraunberg.

The performances for the parishes of Maria Thalheim and Rappoltskirchen will follow next week.

Fraunberg

- "This year we are actually celebrating a contemplative festival without mulled wine and Christmas market and will spend more time with the family," said Pastötter.

He had brought a mailbox with him for the letters to God.

“He will be with us throughout Advent.” Writing a letter is something personal.

"A conversation with God, a letter to him, is like a prayer," said the clergyman.

Now one can write letters to God from the heart.

Right now, at a difficult time, the children could share wishes and longings whenever they wanted.

For those who have mail for God, mailboxes are now available in the churches, schools and in the St. Florian children's home.

Instead of a reading, lecturer Elisabeth Ertl gave the story of the creation of the post office, which began at a horse-changing station in Italy.

The message of God was already delivered by messengers at that time.

The best-known letter template comes from Jesus: the "Our Father".

Afterwards, selected children read the letters that the deacon had brought with them with good news for humanity.

At the end of the service, Pastötter blessed the Advent wreath and lit the first candle.

The Fraunhofer opening service ended with the song “We say to you on the 1st Advent” with Marion Anzinger at the church organ.

From December 24th, the Kigo team will display the letters in a large wooden hut in the center of Fraunberg.

They can then be read by citizens over the Christmas holidays.
