Rebecca had therefore spent a "nurses' evening" with her sister the evening before she disappeared, and a selfie was sent to a cousin shortly before they went to sleep.

The 15-year-old's cousin called her in the afternoon.
But the student was not yet very worried at this point.
Rebecca Reusch's cousin, on the other hand, was directly worried about the 15-year-old, after all, it was unusual for Rebecca not to be online for hours.
The schoolgirl's family alerted the police that afternoon.
It was immediately noticed that the 15-year-old's belongings had disappeared.

At least that's what the cousin of the missing Rebecca Reusch reports.
The journalists of the podcast “In the dark.
The Rebecca Reusch case ”met the spokesman for the Berlin public prosecutor, Martin Steltner, in the course of their research.
“He's still suspicious.
But there is no requirement for an arrest warrant, ”Steltner confirms in an interview with the two young women.
This means Florian R., the brother-in-law of the missing student Rebecca Reusch.
The young man had to sit in custody for more than two weeks in 2019.
Photos of him and his car were even released to the public to generate clues.

In the corridor, while talking to the commissioner, the two women met their colleague by chance.
After Niethammer and Arndts first explain their concern, the man who is not mentioned by name in the podcast explains rather casually: “It's such a tricky situation.
Everyone knows who it was, or they think they know who it was, but you just can't ... ", explains the colleague of the chief detective.
The journalists publish the statement in the original sound in the podcast.
Who exactly the investigator means by this statement remains unclear.
As the journalists explain in the podcast, the relatives of the missing Rebecca Reusch continue to support the suspect.
“There is evidence that Rebecca was in the house and that there was a homicide here in the house.
There is no evidence that she left the house alive with her belongings, ”explains Steltner at first.
Accordingly, the router and the phone behavior of the girl were evaluated.
Investigators are of the opinion that the girl could not have left the house alive.
However, Steltner could not reveal which clues the investigators had discovered.

However, it remains unclear what exactly happened on the morning of the disappearance.
As the two journalists want to have found out, Rebecca Reusch's cell phone logged into the router of her sister's house between six and eight in the morning.
But when the mother of the student wanted to call her daughter shortly after seven and again at 8.25 a.m., the mailbox jumped directly, so the cell phone was apparently switched off.
Shortly thereafter, the mother called the girl's brother-in-law, who was still in bed at this time after a Christmas party.
But Florian R. did not respond to the first call, but called back shortly afterwards.
When the young man looked after Rebecca in the living room, the girl had already left the house.

But that's not all, the two journalists also want to know that the suspected brother-in-law could be proven to have been a lie.
Accordingly, Rebecca's sister's husband claimed to be asleep that morning.
But as the two young women claim to have been confirmed by "several people with access to files", the young man is said to have watched porn that morning.
This has been proven to the cook.
Investigators are therefore sure that the young man then went to Rebecca, the girl is said to have died.
In order to cover up his act, he initially did not call his mother-in-law back.
However, investigators cannot prove their suspicions.
The girl's brother-in-law is said to have remained silent about these suspicions during the interrogations.

However, a friend of Rebecca Reusch told the journalists that the 15-year-old had sent her a photo that morning.
The student photographed herself in her outfit in front of the mirror.
The girlfriend still wondered why Rebecca got up so early.
After all, both of them should have been at school at 9.50 a.m.
However, Rebecca did not respond to the answer that the friend immediately sent her.
The "snap", a message in the app "Snapchat" was not even read by Rebecca.
The message must have been sent before 8:30 a.m.
But although the missing Rebecca Reusch was already wearing her jacket on this snapshot, investigators cannot prove whether the girl could actually have left the house.
The new episodes of the podcast should now be published every Tuesday.
However, it remains unclear whether the student's disappearance can still be clarified.
