Erding -

The economy in Erdinger Land defies the corona crisis and the second lockdown: The unemployment rate fell by 0.1 points in November compared to the previous month to 2.5 percent.

That corresponds to 2076 unemployed (-85).

The month of the previous year with a rate of 1.6 percent proves that the pandemic is leaving its mark.

The Freising Employment Agency published these figures on Tuesday.

The development of short-time work also speaks for a slight stabilization, at least until the new lockdown.

In March, 450 companies with 4907 employees made use of it, in April 876 (11,872) and in May 784 (11,645).

In June - more recent figures are not available - the number fell further to 638 companies with 9943 employees.

In the meantime it should be more.

Despite the crisis, there are vacancies in the district - 180, 46 more than in October.

There are now 739 in the job pool. "Despite renewed restrictions, the labor market has recently been robust," commented agency boss Nikolaus Windisch on the November statistics.
