An independent panel of experts advising the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended that medical staff and the elderly in sheltered housing and nursing homes be the first to receive the coveted vaccine for the corona virus.

The panel of experts made the decision by a majority of 13 out of 14. However, the recommendations must be approved by the CDC's director, Dr. Robert Redfield, before the vaccine can be distributed to the population.
