Sam Davies informed his team in the early evening that she had collided with a UFO with his Initiatives-Coeur boat.
The sailor is heading north at low speed and will inspect her boat in the next few hours to assess the extent of the damage.
The team indicated that the sailor was not injured and safe on her boat which occupied 12th place in the standings at the 22:00 point.
