Macau's gaming industry may introduce digital renminbi.

According to sources quoted by Bloomberg, in the past few months, local gaming regulators have contacted a number of gaming companies to discuss the possibility of using digital renminbi to exchange chips, but the discussion is still at a preliminary stage.

However, in the evening, the Bureau of Supervision clarified that the Bureau and Lucky Gaming Approval Company were discussing the use of digital renminbi in gaming casinos, which was a false report.

The report also pointed out that some intermediaries plan to withdraw from the gaming industry or transfer resources to other places.

Some analysts pointed out that the introduction of digital renminbi means that high-stakes customers can place bets without having to convert renminbi into Hong Kong dollars, diminishing the role of intermediary.
