Georg-Christian Zinn from the Center for Hygiene and Infection Prevention in an interview with

The Spanish capital also recorded falling infection numbers despite full restaurants.
Zinn suspects one reason for the positive development in the
behavior of the population
: "An attempt to explain it would be that the Swiss now adhere to the corona rules very well without a fixed lockdown order," explained the specialist in hygiene and environmental medicine.
Falling corona numbers in Switzerland: Doctors do not want to give the all-clear
In terms of population, Switzerland still has significantly higher numbers of infections compared to Germany.
David Nabarro, the Covid representative of the World Health Organization (WHO), which is based in Geneva, recently told the newspapers of the media company CH-Media: "I am surprised that it is not treated as a national emergency".
The 7-day incidence * in Switzerland is 348, around two and a half times as high as in Germany.
The same applies to the death toll.
At 46.6 per 100,000 inhabitants, this is also significantly higher than in Germany, for example.
It currently remains to be seen whether the values will converge over time.
In addition, according to Zinn, the development of the number of cases in the run-up to Christmas in Switzerland and in Austria, which is still badly affected, must be monitored.
