Covid-19 cases increased by 30% in the Americas in November, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) alerted on Wednesday, December 2.
In November, "
there were more than six million new infections identified
" across the region, according to the director of the Organization, Carissa Etienne.
The total number of infections in the Americas fell from 20.5 million at the end of October to nearly 27 million at the end of November.

More than 150,000 people are currently testing positive for Covid-19 every day in the United States, where a surge in contamination is expected after the recent Thanksgiving celebrations, marked by the displacement of millions of people.

As the world clings to hope for a vaccine, the Pan American Health Organization has urged continued containment, mask-wearing and social distancing measures.
