The number of people infected with the coronavirus and hospitalized in the United States has exceeded 100,000 for the first time since the start of the pandemic, the Covid Tracking Project announced on Wednesday, December 2.
"There are currently 100,226 people with Covid-19 and hospitalized in the United States, the first time that hospitalizations have exceeded 100,000,"
he said in a tweet.
During the first and second waves, this number had never exceeded 60,000.
