The "before Hanukkah" period also came with dozens of types of donuts that came to our table for review • The big winner, the disappointment and the surprising absence from the list • For the full coverage
Hanukkah is already upon us, and more than the holiday itself, it seems that the "before" period, in which the confectioneries and bakeries showcase their spectacular donut collections, is much more intriguing.
As every year, this time too quite a few places have tried to go as far and strive as possible to launch the most special donut, which will both look good and taste great.

However, it seems that this year the places have gone a few steps forward, some would even say, too many steps forward.
Among the new donuts this year you can find an ice cream-shaped donut, a sausage-shaped donut, and more.
Quite a few praised these flavors and the creativity and thinking outside the box.
However, these flavors are far from the traditional flavors we are used to on Hanukkah.
The Roldin chain, for example, presents a variety of new flavors this year, including coffee amarettes and berry pavlova.
At Shani Confectionery we go in the corrupt direction with a savory pretzel donut topped with a savory pretzel cream coated in milk chocolate, a kinder donut and a folded triple.
Jacobs has launched "Sufnika", an elongated baked donut that looks like a bun, filled with raspberry ganache coated in milk chocolate on the sausage standard, vanilla diplomat cream on the mayonnaise standard, strawberry jam instead of ketchup and passion fruit coli instead of mustard.
On top of that, the popular cookie brand Lotus is collaborating for the first time with the Sicilian boutique ice cream parlor, resulting in a collection of donuts and desserts.
For example, a Lotus Coffee Donut is a donut filled with coffee cream and lotus coated in white chocolate ganache, topped with a scaled-down ice cream cup coated in lotus cookie crumbs.
Many tasters tasted a variety of donuts and rated each donut with scores from 1 to 10. Based on the results, we created the ranking of the best donuts for Hanukkah 2020. Happy holiday.

The collaboration between the two brands spawned products we enjoyed eating, like donuts filled with coffee cream and lotus, yet, they do not so much create a feeling of flavors that are appropriate for Hanukkah.

Old School donut, the filling of the classic jam is delicious and close to childhood memories.
