The founder of Next Media Group, Li Zhiying, was arrested again yesterday. He and two high-level officials were accused of concealing the Science Park Company and allowing Lego Consulting to use the Apple Building and breaching the lease. They were charged with fraud. Three people were charged this morning (3rd) ) Was escorted to West Kowloon Magistracy by a police car.
Although the three people were detained overnight for investigation, they were in good spirits at the hearing. The prosecution requested that the case be postponed until April 16, but they opposed the three people's bail and Li was refused bail.
National Security Law appointed judge to hear
3 defendants: Li Zhiying (73 years old, founder of Next Media Group), Zhou Daquan (63 years old, chief operating officer and chief financial officer), and Huang Weiqiang (59 years old, chief executive officer).
The case was handled by Judge Su Huide, designated by the National Security Law this morning.
Charged with intent to defraud Technology Park Company
The charge alleges that between June 27, 2016 and May 22 this year, the three persons concealed from the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park Company that they did not have the lease between the Hong Kong Industrial Estate Company and Apple Printing Company on May 25, 1995. With permission, use the premises or part of the premises at No. 8 Chun Ying Street, Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate: and falsely indicate to the Science and Technology Park Company that the premises are used as permitted by the lease.
The above actions are intended to defraud the Science and Technology Park Company for failing to take action to enforce the powers under the lease, resulting in the benefit of Apple Printing Company or Ligo Consultants, or the disadvantage of the Science and Technology Park Company.
