The SPD Schongau accuses Daniel Blum of treason.

In a post on the SPD website, the former local chairman was verbally attacked by his successor Walter Popp.

At the weekend, however, people have now come to terms: "The Advent season has begun, it doesn't have to be that you hit it so hard," Popp rows back.

  • After an internal dispute, Daniel Blum relinquished the chairmanship of the Schongau SPD

  • Now he has joined the Schongau CSU

  • His successor Walter Popp has accused him of treason on the Internet

Schongau

- Already in April, the SPD Schongau commented on the resignation of its former SPD local chairman Daniel Blum via a member's letter.

After CSU local chairman Oliver Kellermann and Blum recently announced at a press conference that the former SPD man would now like to participate in the CSU, another statement followed on the SPD website.

There was talk of the “never-ending story of Daniel Blum”, who has now found his home “as a prodigal son to his mentor”.

Popp congratulated the CSU on this “great catch” and directly accused Blum and Kellermann of having planned and staged everything.

A city council mandate at the expense of the SPD?

Mainly in view of the local elections of the time.

"Despite his thoughts about emigration, Blum let the SPD place himself in fifth place on the list," said Popps.

Although he had already made contact with the CSU at that time, he was "not man enough" to step down from his place on the list.

Popps' conclusion: Blum wanted to win a city council seat at the expense of the SPD.

"After the election there would have been a change with thunder and trumpets."

Even with Oliver Kellermann, Popp didn't give a damn, assuming that he had used Blum as an informant for the CSU.

"One can only guess what information was exchanged between the two gentlemen during the hot phase of the election campaign," wrote Popp in the message on the homepage.

Long planned approach?

Blum had presented himself to the public as a victim, as a killed chairman who had been badly treated by the SPD.

"Taking into account the statements made by Blum / Kellermann that have now become known, one can assume that this was a long-planned procedure," says Popp.

The SPD local chairman concluded his statement with a definition of betrayal: "Breach of loyalty, destruction of a relationship of trust by surrendering or (maliciously) leaving something or person to which one was connected."

This text has been online since November 20, now the SPD has rowed back, on Sunday the statement was removed from the homepage.

Popp justifies the reaction with reference to the "Stade Zeit" that has now begun.

The SPD local chairman maintains that Blum did not behave correctly.

“In terms of content, something is presented that is not so”, Popp is still convinced.

In the heat of battle

In the heat of the moment, however, he had chosen a vocabulary that was too violent, "that annoyed me myself in retrospect and I feel a little bit sorry".

Especially now before Christmas they want things to go on peacefully, Popp says conciliatory to the Schongauer Nachrichten.

Exactly a year ago, after a dispute within the board of directors about the accounting for the second wine night, Blum had thrown in the towel as chairman and resigned.

At the end of March - after the local elections - he left the SPD and joined the CSU in June.

This decision was communicated to the CSU executive committee by the CSU local chairman Kellermann only after the summer break, and the CSU members even later.

The SPD won six seats on the city council in the local elections.

At that time, Blum was unable to keep 5th place on the list, the Schongau residents had voted him 12th, so he was a long way from a city council mandate.
