Tonight (Wednesday), Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a statement to the media, during which he attacked Blue and White, headed by Bnei Gantz, referring to the morbidity situation in Corona in Israel and even the security situation.

Netanyahu opened his speech by referring to the continued spread of the corona virus in Israel.

He described the contacts with the companies developing the vaccines, and mentioned that these would arrive in Israel "soon."

"The mortality rate in Israel, tragic as it may be, is much smaller than what happens in advanced countries our size. Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic, countries the size of Israel with a mortality rate of between two and five times what happens here."

The mortality rate in these four countries is indeed higher than in Israel, but Netanyahu has chosen to omit other countries with similar characteristics - which are in a better position than us.

For example, in Slovakia and Lebanon, the mortality rate is lower than in Israel.

Subsequently, and following the approval in a preliminary reading of the bill to dissolve the Knesset, Netanyahu accused Blue and White of raising populist proposals that prevented him from passing a resolution on the second closure.

"For example, the one that raises populist demands - I had to fight the second wave when the disease started to rise. The disease started to rise, and I want to stop the opening. 2,000-3,000 infected a day, I could not move it. We reached 9,900 infected a day - and only then could I move It".

In practice, the main struggles on the closure were between ministers and Knesset members from the ruling party, which holds significant portfolios in the struggle in Corona, and Health Minister Yuli Edelstein, Finance Minister Israel Katz and Education Minister Yoav Galant.

Another front in the Knesset was that of the chairman of the Corona Committee, MK Yifat Shasha-Bitton, as well as with the ultra-Orthodox factions that opposed and oppose most of the restrictions.

At some point Gantz and other ministers from the Blue and White bloc also opposed the addition of restrictions, as did former Corona commissioner Prof. Roni Gamzo.

In his speech, Netanyahu insisted that Blue and White were violating coalition agreements.

According to him,

"blue and white sign coalition agreements and violate them."

Blue and White did violate the coalition agreements, but the Likud did so before.

As early as the beginning of June, Finance Minister Katz announced an annual budget, while according to the coalition agreement between the Likud and Blue and White, it was agreed that the government would pass a biennial budget to ensure its stability.
