The fifteen Bulgarian defendants, who had been appearing since November 18 for “

aggravated procuring

”, “

trafficking in human beings

” and “

criminal association

”, were all sentenced to prison terms, ranging from six months to ten years depending on their status. degree of involvement and their hierarchical position in the highly organized network.

The five clan chiefs received the heaviest sentences, similar to the prosecution's requisitions, i.e. up to 10 years in prison and a fine of 500,000 euros, together with a definitive ban from French territory at the end of their hardly.

All the defendants were also sentenced to a ban on carrying or holding a weapon subject to authorization for a period of ten years.

The prosecution accused them of having participated between 2015 and 2018 in a vast pimping network extended to Ile-de-France, but operating in a more targeted manner at the gates of Paris, in Essonne and in Val-de-Marne.

The prostitutes, young women recruited in Bulgaria via the mirage promise of a job in France, were disillusioned once they arrived in France: forced to prostitute themselves, they were deprived of all of their income by their pimps, who gave them systematically violated.

The trap also worked thanks to former prostitutes who had risen in rank, who in turn had reproduced this pattern with new arrivals.

They were also sentenced to prison terms and fines.
