The color intertwined with poetic visions in the artistic exhibition “Tarnim”, which is being held by the expatriate artist Saif Daoud, giving his paintings a touch of sadness, alienation and suffering.

Artist Daoud explained to Sana that the exhibition hosted by Mustafa Ali's Gallery in Old Damascus is a selection of 300 paintings that have one link, which is the suffering that he expressed through the brush and the color, indicating that despite sadness and pain, hope remains.

Concerning the name of the exhibition, Daoud mentioned that it suggests a song and a call to life and joy through the painting, pointing out that he worked on his works in the technique of contrasting colors with Harmony to break the boundaries and separations between them, so the bright colors came to give the painting a color intensity.

Dawood also showed that the works carry the element of intertwining the arts, as he is a poet and his poetics must appear in his works, and the painting has no specific color, but rather has a relationship to the psychological state where there is interaction between him and the painting, considering that the message of art in the expatriate is to convey the thought and the Eastern civilization to the West.

Artist Mustafa Ali showed that Daoud’s experience is distinctive in which the expressive element predominates through the rough and soft space and through the stark colors that are surrounded by cold colors and have a relationship to alienation and nostalgia, indicating that the artist’s interior appeared clearly to the outside where we can read his insides on the color palette.

As for the artist, Mohamed Al-Rakoui, he saw that the exhibition is a mixed-level experience, as the ideas are beautiful and show that the artist worked on them more than techniques and painting, and that Daoud resorted to childishness in his work, a beautiful style that we were pleased with as attendees.
