More than 1.5 million deaths from the new coronavirus have been officially recorded worldwide since the start of the pandemic, for nearly 65 million cases, according to a count made by AFP from reports provided by the authorities, Thursday at 7.45 p.m.

A total of 1,500,038 deaths, for 64,774,705 cases, have been recorded worldwide since the start of the pandemic in China in December.
Latin America and the Caribbean is the most affected region in the world with 452,263 deaths, ahead of Europe (430,060 deaths), and the United States and Canada (286,946).
