Geretsried
- The new sports facility should actually go into operation in mid-September.
But the final work dragged on until the end of October.
Now, according to René Beysel from the District Office, the hall is finally ready for use and teachers can hold their physical education classes there.
If the Corona rules allow, the hall is also open to club athletes.

The new hall had been discussed for years.
Due to the fluctuating number of students, there was talk of a double gym, sometimes a quadruple gym.
When it was decided to return to the nine-year high school in 2017, the way was clear for the triple hall.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place in March 2019, the topping-out ceremony six months later.
The district invested around 10.5 million euros in the new and modern sports facility.
Beysel: “We are within budget.” With a length of 47 meters and a width of 29 meters, it is significantly larger than the neighboring old triple gymnasium.
Parking lot with 85 spaces
The gym is accessed via Jahnstrasse.
There is a parking lot with 85 spaces.
Bike racks have also been thought of.
The main entrance is on the long side of the building facing west.
A long covered ramp with an intermediate platform enables barrier-free access.
Disabled toilet and elevator
Some of the windows and doors in the building are covered with stylized sports figures.
The hall can be divided into three areas with lowerable curtains.
There are, of course, changing rooms and sanitary facilities, a disabled toilet and an elevator.
There is space for 224 visitors in the grandstand.
There is a small kitchen with a window for clubs that want to treat their visitors to snacks and drinks at tournaments.
According to Beysel, a “highlight” is the connection from the new to the old hall - also barrier-free.
Schoolchildren and club athletes can easily switch back and forth via a wide intermediate aisle.
