The spokesman said that the previous winter flu season in Hong Kong usually started in January, and it takes about two weeks for the body to develop antibodies after vaccination. It is recommended that the first dose of vaccination be given before early December.

A spokesperson for the Department of Health said that Hong Kong residents aged 2 to 49 who belong to the following "Vaccine Subsidy Scheme" groups (except those who are pregnant, have low immunity, or have other contraindications and cannot receive the attenuated nasal flu vaccine) , Are eligible to receive free attenuated nasal spray influenza vaccine through private doctors participating in the "Vaccine Subsidy Scheme":
• Children between the ages of two and under 12, or children aged 12 or above who are still studying in Hong Kong primary schools; or
• People with intellectual disabilities; or
• People receiving disability allowance; or
• The standard amount category for receiving the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance Scheme is "persons with 100% disability" or "requiring constant care".
The government will provide doctors providing vaccination services with a subsidy of 100 yuan per dose, which is the same as the subsidy for each dose of influenza vaccine in other government vaccination programs.
