Joe Biden will face four crises in his next government 2:00

New York (CNN Business) -

In the last minute of Jake Tapper's meeting with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on Thursday, Harris put it all in perspective:

“There could not be a more extreme exercise in stark contrast between the current occupant of the White House and the next occupant of the White House.

And I believe that our country will be the best because of the outcome of this election and the election of Joe Biden as president.

The "stark contrast" is even more apparent when Biden and Harris speak to the press.

Thursday featured the couple's first joint interview, and CNN aired it as a primetime special at 9 p.m. ET.

"No fake news"

Right after the interview, Tapper spoke with the 10 pm host Don Lemon, who said “it feels like we're seeing… a president-elect and a president who are on Earth One and Earth Two.

And on this particular Earth that it really is, it was very normal, very calm.

And it was good news.

It was good to see her.

It was good to be happy.

We don't hear fake news.

We don't listen to conspiracy theories.

We listen without personal complaints.

We hear from an elected president and a vice president who want to work with the other side.

"No Fake News": That's the yardstick now, as Trump routinely lies to his interviewers, even his superfans like Maria Bartiromo.

Tapper told Lemon that a Biden interview is notably different than a Trump interview.

With Biden, he said, "you don't have to steel yourself for possible reaction when you bring up uncomfortable topics," like when Tapper asked Biden about his relatives and about areas of disagreement between Biden and Harris.

“There just wasn't, you know, the attack that we were used to in the fourth estate.

So that was unusual.

Biden Says In Interview Trump Should Put America First

Biden: It is important that Trump attend the 1:21 possession

Towards the end of the interview, Tapper said: “President Trump has not yet said whether he will attend his inauguration.

Do you think it is important for me to be there?

Tapper pointed out that Biden chuckled during the question.

"I think it would be important only in one sense, not in a personal sense," Biden said.

“Important in the sense that we can demonstrate an end to this chaos that it has created, that there is a peaceful transfer of power with the competing parties standing there, shaking hands and moving forward.

I think that's important".

In other words, Biden believes it is important to America.

He believes Trump should put "America first."

True?

Five notable quotes from Biden and Harris

- In light of the multiple crises that Biden is inheriting, Tapper asked, "How does it feel ... what is the emotion running through you?"

The first words out of Biden's mouth were "I'm determined."

- Regarding the COVID-19 crisis, Biden said that he will ask Americans to wear masks for "100 days."

- Biden said in the interview that Americans will not see "politics by tweets" once he takes office.

- Biden said he is reaching out, “not only the communities that supported me, I will reach out to those that did not support me.

I mean really, because I think a lot of people are just scared and think they have been left behind and forgotten.

We will not forget anyone in this effort.

That goes back to the "stark contrast" Harris described.
