Today, the National Space Administration of China released pictures showing the Chinese flag pinned to the surface of the moon for the first time in history.
The Chinese news agency Xinhua reported that a panoramic camera installed on the Chang'e 5 probe group took pictures before the probe set off from the moon with samples collected from the soil.
The Chinese probe left the surface of the moon last night, carrying samples to Earth for the first time in 40 years.
