The famous Walther PP pistol used by Sean Connery in the first James Bond brought to the screen has been auctioned for $ 256,000, or about 205,000 euros, the auction house Julien's auction in Beverly Hills announced Thursday.
The purchaser is an American fan who wished to remain anonymous.

Sean Connery, who died last October at the age of 90, grabbed the characteristic small pistol in
James Bond against Dr No
in 1962. In this feature film, the British secret agent is ordered to exchange his old Beretta against the Walther.

It belonged to the film's gunsmith until its auction in 2006. The famous Walther was one of the 500 symbolic objects of Hollywood cinema put up for sale by Julien's Auctions during a special sale Thursday.
Also in the catalog was the fighter pilot helmet worn by Tom Cruise in

, which sold for $ 108,000.
