Tel Aviv chairman Moshe Ya'alon said today (Friday) that he intends to resign as chairman of Yair Lapid, in favor of a new political force headed by him. In an interview with News 12, he said he would make a final decision ahead of the election and clarified that "a new force needs to be built." Ya'alon also noted that former Chief of Staff Gadi Izenkot will make a final decision regarding joining politics when elections are announced, and that he will serve as his No. 2 figure.

Ya'alon, who served as the fourth wing in a blue-and-white partnership, said goodbye to it along with Lapid with the decision of party chairman Bnei Gantz to join the Netanyahu government.

As for the continuation of his path and joining Eisenkot, Ya'alon said that "there is no discussion" about who will serve as number 2. "Izenkot understood the lesson of Bnei Gantz," he explained.

"If he enters, then it is clear that he has joined my party and I am leading. We need to acquire some political, ministerial experience that I have and do not have."

"No discussion, will be number 2."

He later attacked Ganz, saying that he had failed in his conduct.

He later claimed that he could bring about the replacement of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"The current opposition does not get more than 46 seats, if you add Lieberman it is 54. It is not 60. To get to 60 you have to convince those who have not yet decided, you have to convince those who are currently parked at Bennett, you have to convince Likud members who still remember The Likud of the past and I think I can bring them.
