Departure of more cruises canceled until November 1:04

Carnival Cruise Line announced Thursday that it has canceled, until February 2021, the rest of its scheduled cruises, due to the increase in cases of Covid-19 throughout the United States.
"We apologize to our customers, but we must continue to take a thoughtful, deliberate and measured approach as we chart our return to operations in 2021," Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said in a statement.
"Our commitment to the health and safety of our guests, the crew and the communities we visit is at the forefront of our decisions and operations."

Carnival said it will cancel cruise operations in February 2021 from Miami, Port Canaveral and Galveston.
The cruise line also moved the maiden sailing of its Mardi Gras ship to April 24, 2021, according to the press release.
The news comes less than a month after Carnival announced that its trips would be canceled until January 31, 2021. Now, the tentative restart date for trips has been pushed back to March.

The cruise industry has been among the hardest hit by the pandemic.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued an order banning cruise ships in March, banning their departure from US ports until October.
On October 30, the CDC issued a Framework for the Conditional Shipping Order, outlining a phased approach to resuming cruises.
Accumulated CDC data from March 1 to July 10, 2020 showed a total of 2,973 cases of covid-19 or covid-like illness on cruise ships, in addition to 34 deaths.
Eighty percent of ships within the United States jurisdiction were affected during the time period, according to the data.
