Hezbollah is blaming its perpetrators for the bombing in the port of Beirut
The Shiite organization has launched legal proceedings against a former Christian lawmaker and a Christian party, which linked him to a disaster that struck the Lebanese capital in August.
They hinted that Hezbollah weapons led to the massive destruction, killing more than 200 people.

Hezbollah announced yesterday (Friday) that it is suing a former Christian MP and a site affiliated with a Christian party for libel, after blaming the Shiite organization for responsibility for the devastating explosion in the port of Beirut.
Hezbollah legal representative Ibrahim Mousavi said the allegations, made by Fares Said and the website of the right-wing Lebanese forces party, were misleading.
Mousavi, who is also a Hezbollah MP, said at an out-of-court press conference that the allegations threaten social peace in Lebanon, at a time when the United States is exerting maximum pressure on his party and allies.
Washington defines Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, and it has tightened sanctions on it and its political allies in Lebanon.
The huge explosion in the port of Beirut on August 4 was caused by a flare-up of about 3,000 tons of ammonium nitrate, which was stored in a port warehouse in violation of procedures for six years.
The blast killed more than 200 people and injured more than 6,000 people.
Extensive parts of the capital were destroyed.
Since then, some of Hezbollah's political and civilian opponents have accused him of possessing explosives in the port.
The Iran - backed organization is the only one that has maintained its weapons since the end of the 1990 Lebanese civil war.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah denied these allegations, and no evidence has emerged that linked the organization to this.
However, four months after the blast, the official investigation has yet to provide plausible explanations for what happened or held any senior official responsible.
The families of the victims are demanding an international inquiry.
In Lebanon, the perpetrators of terrorist attacks and other acts of violence are rarely prosecuted.
Official documents showed that the Ports Authority, security agencies and political leadership were all aware of the storage of the dangerous substances in the port.
According to reports, the port of Beirut is among the largest corruption hotspots in Lebanon.
Said, a former MP, claimed in September that Hezbollah's stockpiles of weapons in the port had led to an explosion.
"When the US administration is focused on persecuting Hezbollah and pressuring governments to put it on the terror list, you find that there are internal and external factors that are helping," Mousavi said.
Said said he had no comment on the lawsuit against him, adding that his lawyers would be required to do so on Monday.
The Lebanese forces have not yet commented.
Mousavi said he also planned to file an indictment against Baha'i al-Hariri, the brother of the designated prime minister Saad al-Hariri, who is living in exile.
