The head of the national delegation to the meetings of the constitution discussion committee in Geneva, Dr. Ahmed Al-Kuzbari, confirmed that the fourth round of the committee's meetings, which concluded today, dealt with several issues, including national principles and the file for the return of refugees, rejecting any separatist scheme for the Syrian lands, in addition to the humanitarian file and the need for urgent treatment of this file.

Al-Kuzbari clarified during a press conference in Geneva that during the third and fourth round national principles were discussed, as the national delegation presented in the third round a number of principles represented by national identity and cultural diversity. In this round, the delegation presented interventions on the file of the return of refugees and rejected any separatist scheme for the Syrian lands. To the issue of the humanitarian file and the need to urgently address it, because it affects all Syrians, lifting the siege and unjust coercive measures imposed by some countries on the Syrian people.

Al-Kuzbari emphasized that the participation of the national delegation was positive and open to proposals and discussions on any topic, and it was agreed to set the date for the fifth round at the end of next month and on its agenda, which is the discussion of constitutional principles or basic principles in the constitution.

Al-Kuzbari explained that the proposals presented by the national delegation were all important matters affecting the Syrian people, but there was no in-depth discussion of them by the other party, who raised issues that are not included on the session's agenda and were not answered because they are scheduled for the next round.

In response to a question about what happened in the last session between Al-Kuzbari, that there was a violation of the code of conduct and procedures by the other co-chair, which led to the objection of some members of the national delegation to this violation, which should not be repeated in the future, after which the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations declared that Pedersen to conclude the session and set a date for the next session.
