With the participation of 38 male and female players of different age groups, the Workers Sports Club in Homs held a refresher chess tournament with the aim of developing the players' skill level.
Majd Abdoush won first place with four and a half points, followed by a total of four points, each of the players, Malik al-Tawbah, Yaroub al-Sharif, Bashar Zalma, Ghadqan Qanas and Tariq Ramadan.
The tournament supervisor, Bashar Mustafa, said in a statement to the SANA sports correspondent, "The tournament comes within the framework of the weekly refresher tournaments that the Workers Club holds, which are held according to the Swiss system, with five rounds and a time of ten minutes."
Mustafa added that the refresher tournaments are witnessing a remarkable increase in the number of participants, which contributes to the formation of distinguished teams capable of competing in the central and foreign championships later.
