(CNN Spanish) -
Luis Suárez overcame covid-19 and returned to the field this Saturday, in the victory of Atlético de Madrid over Real Valladolid for La Liga.
The former Football Club Barcelona player started and stayed on the field for 63 minutes, in a match that allowed the “Colchoneros” to take the lead temporarily.
Suárez tested positive for covid-19 on November 16, when he was concentrating with the Uruguayan team in the dispute of the South American Qualifiers.
The attacker missed the match against Brazil and returned to Spain, where he had to remain isolated.
The wait ended for the scorer last Friday, after training with Atlético and being at the disposal of Diego Pablo Simeone for the commitment where he was not only called up, but also played from the beginning.
But, without a doubt, the most special and emotional moment for the Uruguayan was being able to reconnect with his family.
Luis Suárez shared through his Instagram account the moment where he hugs his three children after more than two weeks.
