Melania Trump is doing her job as first lady as usual - but according to critics, she is currently setting her priorities wrong.
Melania Trump's
office as
first lady
is
not over yet.
The wife of the
US President
has now presented the result of one of her projects.
But there is a lot of criticism for that - mainly because of the
corona pandemic
.
Washington - In the corona pandemic *, is a new
tennis pavilion
really what the USA urgently needs?
(Still-) First Lady
Melania Trump
* unveiled the white gem on the White House tennis court - and received little applause.
Although she wrote of having preserved a "historic milestone", angry reaction tweets referred to the high number of
Covid-19 *
deaths
and overcrowded US hospitals.
History continues to unfold at the @WhiteHouse & I am pleased to announce the completion of the tennis pavilion.
Preserving this historic landmark is vital & I want to thank all who helped complete this project.

The followers didn't applaud the building very much.
Not because it's ugly.
But because the country has other worries right now, many commentators found it on Twitter.
The left-liberal journalist
David Corn
(
Mother Jones
), for example, tweeted the Tennis Pavilion press release succinctly:
282,345
.
That was the number of deaths recorded in the United States from the novel coronavirus at the time.
282,345.

Melania Trump steps into the Corona faux pas: "The intensive care patients will feel much better"
According to figures from the University of Johns Hopkins, more than 175,000 new corona infections and more than 1,100 deaths were reported in the United States the day before the pavilion opened.
The British
Guardian
noticed the much sharper tweet from journalist
Molly Jong-Fast
(
Daily Beast
): “Oh well, patients in intensive care units will feel so much better when they know that the tennis pavilion is ready is. "
Oh Good, those people in their ICU beds will feel so much better knowing that Melania has finished her tennis pavilion.

Melania Trump had also redesigned the rose garden at the White House in recent years.
She hopes the tennis court will be "a place of relaxation for future presidential families," said the first lady.
Obama's basketball hoop apparently had to give way for Trump's tennis pavilion
Her husband, the elected US President
Donald Trump
*, published a photo of the new building on Monday, in the place of which there was previously a kind of shelter.
His predecessor in office,
Barack Obama
, had the course rebuilt so that he could
play
basketball
there.
Nothing of that could be seen now.
