Police are investigating the circumstances of the death of a 24-year-old woman who was found lifeless yesterday (Saturday) in an apartment in Ramla.

She allegedly died from a drug overdose, and police arrested her 59-year-old partner and a 52-year-old woman who were in the apartment at the time for questioning.

The Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion extended the suspect's detention by three days, and the suspect's detention until tomorrow.

The young woman's body was transferred to forensic medicine to determine the cause of death, the investigation continues.

As you may recall, a similar incident occurred in Tel Aviv last week.

Ilya Shakon, 23, was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the death of his 18-year-old partner, who died from a drug overdose last Tuesday.

A police spokesman, Major-General Yoni Hirschhorn, said at the hearing that the couple were under investigation on suspicion of mutual violence between them, and they were separated for two weeks.

According to him, beyond the involvement in causing the death, the very fact that they both stayed together in the same apartment is in fact a violation of a legal provision.

Einhorn told the court that "Shakon went to work yesterday, even though he saw that his partner was snoring and not in good condition. This is a suspect who has been the deceased's partner for the past three years. "Klonex", etc.) and she did not answer the phone. The friend entered the apartment with a ladder, saw her lying on the floor - and called MDA. "

On the suspicion against the young man, Einhorn says:" We claim that whoever provided the drugs to the young woman is the suspect, For she had no means of financing except her friend. '

On the other hand, Shakon's defense attorney, Adv. Yossi Friedman, said that until two months ago his client lived with his mother, and that she did not agree that the deceased young woman would be at her home, "because she was drugged all the time and tried to cut veins."

According to Attorney Friedman, this is a tragic case, and his client cooperated with the police. "The deceased was at a rehab center," Attorney Friedman claimed. "Shakon told investigators where she obtained the drugs, and he asked her to stop using drugs, after two days ago he saw She's drugged in the living room.

He took care of her, so he called a neighbor yesterday to check on her when he ran to work. '

Judge Anat Yahav ruled in her decision that there was a reasonable suspicion of the offenses attributed to Shakon, since there is evidence that he was the one who provided her with the drugs, among other things because she could not afford to buy them.

The judge noted that this was a couple who consumed drugs "intensively".

A friend of the suspect's mother said the young woman who died was in rehab twice.

She claimed, "He did not provide her with drugs. Everyone knew what she was and that she was taking drugs. She cut herself some time ago. My children have known her for two years, they wanted to save her. She was in rehab and was also hospitalized in Abarbanel."
