The young man, registered in the File of alerts for the prevention of radicalization of a terrorist nature (FSPRT), was trying to break into a house armed with two ceramic knives for an undetermined reason at this stage.

Alerted, two municipal police officers arrived on the scene and tried to stop him on an adjacent lot.

He then tried to stab the police officers, slightly injuring one in the neck, one of the sources continued.

He was then arrested after use by these same police officers of an electric pulse weapon and then placed in police custody.

The investigation, opened by the Carpentras prosecutor's office, was entrusted to the Montpellier judicial police.
