According to reports and in-depth investigations, officers of the Special Duty Squad of Marine Police Outer Harbor and Marine Police West Division launched an anti-crime operation in the evening yesterday (8th). Two suspicious men were stopped at Pak Ma Wan Chung, Lantau Island, and they 20 bricks weighing about 20 kilograms of suspected cocaine were seized on his body, with a market value of about 35 million yuan.
The 46-year-old man surnamed Cai and the 26-year-old man surnamed Huang were arrested for drug trafficking and are now being detained for investigation.
The case was handed over to officers from the Marine Police Regional Crime Squad for follow-up.
The operation is still in progress, and the police do not rule out more arrests.
The police stressed that they have zero tolerance for all drug activities and will continue to crack down on them.
Drug trafficking is a serious crime. According to the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, Chapter 134 of the Laws of Hong Kong, upon conviction, the maximum penalty is a fine of HK$5 million and life imprisonment. The public should not try the law on their own.
