Negotiations are underway between the State Attorney's Office and Berland's defense attorneys, and a plea bargain was held this week, among other things, in court regarding talks between the parties.

Following this, some of the complainants through attorneys Kobi Sheklar and Stav Halperin demanded that he be arrested.

According to Sheklar, they were informed that under the arrangement he would be sentenced to 14 months in prison as well as compensation to each injured party in the amount of 5,000 to ten thousand shekels, as well as a fine to the state.

According to the lawyers, this is an "ugly deal" that seriously harms the public interest.

"The appropriate punishment in this case is not only for the accused as a person but for the accused as a cultural phenomenon, as a 'guru', as a 'mentor', as a crook of many deeds, so that the whole public knows - that criminals and imposters of this kind, who use their power to influence In all seriousness of the law. He was convicted on two counts of indecent assault and assault and sentenced to 18 months in prison, but was released under house arrest for his health condition.

He was arrested in South Africa at the end of a long manhunt for him, after fleeing the country on the run from the law.

In addition to the prison sentence, he was ordered to pay NIS 25,000 in compensation to the complainants.
