A businessman who won a bidding process to purchase a plot of land in Ashdod did not know that behind his back the plot owner sold the same property to a third party, in order to redeem his debt, with the knowledge of the seller's receiver.

In a rare move, and contrary to the position of the official receiver of the State of Israel, the Supreme Court ruled that the right of redemption is not tradable, and that the property should be sold to the winner, even though six years have passed since the cancellation.
