LE FIGARO MAGAZINE.- Isn't it sometimes disheartening to be a Catholic priest in a society that is becoming de-Christianized?

Don Paul PRÉAUX.-

The priest is not sent into the world to convince, but to announce the divine word.

In Paul's Epistles to the Corinthians, it says:

"Woe to me if I do not proclaim Christ."

When Saint Paul was writing these words, he was in prison, in chains;

in his time too, the priesthood was heavy to bear!

Priests are a gift of Christ to humanity.

In times of crisis, despair and fear like the ones we are experiencing, they embody trust, mercy… and tenderness.

This is an essential word that Pope Francis often uses.

Tenderness starts from the heart, it passes through the eyes, the ears, the hands… It testifies to a concrete love, like that of God for men.
