The ministerial committee in charge of following up the implementation of service and development projects in Deir Ezzor inspected a number of service projects and rehabilitation and development works that are taking place in them, including the rehabilitation work of the third production line in the Euphrates Mill.
The director of the mill, Eng. Samir Sinad, stated that the production capacity is currently 60 tons of flour per day, and the necessary rehabilitation work is underway to install the third line with a capacity of 70 tons.
The committee, headed by the Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Eng. Bassam Tohme, was briefed on the expansion work of the main water station that feeds the city. The Director of the Public Establishment for Drinking Water, Engineer Rabie Al-Ali, stated that the expansion project has reached its final stages with a production capacity of 550 cubic meters per hour, indicating that the number of stations have been put into service It reached 65 water stations with a total capacity of 16800 cubic meters per hour.
The committee also inspected a number of destroyed bridges, “the suspension bridge, the political bridge, and the Ain Abu Jumaa bridge,” which were subjected to attacks by the so-called illegal (International Coalition) aircraft, and examined the damage to these bridges and the reality of the water ferry that the governorate built to connect the two banks of the Euphrates River.
The director of the General Company for Roads and Bridges branch, Eng. Aziz Aziz, stated that the company, in cooperation with the branch of the General Organization for Road Transport, is preparing the necessary studies to restore these bridges and secure waterways that facilitate the movement of citizens and crops between the two banks of the river.
The Ministerial Committee also visited the municipal stadium in Deir Al-Zour and viewed the ongoing rehabilitation works carried out by the General Company for Roads and Bridges and the Engineering Studies Company.
The tour was attended by Minister of State for Investment Affairs, Eng. Muhammad Fayez Al-Barsha, Governor of Deir Ezzor Fadel Najjar, Secretary of the Deir Ezzor Branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party Raed Al-Ghadhban, the provincial police chief, and a number of parliament members.
