The fire brigade's tool shed in the Weidach district of Wolfratshausen is being expanded.

The building committee unanimously approved a first draft by engineer Robert Buxbaum.

  • The fire department equipment store in Weidach no longer meets the current requirements.

  • The building committee of the city of Wolfratshausen has now started an extension.

  • Engineer Robert Buxbaum submitted a cost estimate - the bottom line is 2.5 million euros.

Wolfratshausen

- Quite apart from the fact that it is a compulsory task of the municipality, there are no doubts about the necessity of the measure in city council circles: The fire brigade equipment house in Weidach, built in 1995/96, is being expanded.

On Wednesday evening, the building committee unanimously approved the design planning and the cost estimate of 2.5 million euros.

Work and accident protection regulations have been tightened

As reported, the Robert Buxbaum office was commissioned to plan the property.

The engineer can be described as an expert for this job in two respects - Buxbaum is the commander of the Weidach fire brigade.

At the meeting, he pointed out, among other things, the acute shortage of space in the tool shed, and maintenance and drying of the equipment was hardly possible.

In addition, the legal requirements with regard to occupational safety and accident protection have tightened in recent years.

Changing rooms and sanitary rooms "must be separated according to sex", pointed out Buxbaum to another current grievance.

The city councils have known that there is a need for action since they studied and approved the updated fire brigade requirements plan last year, on which external experts participated.

Those who were not completely convinced by the many facets of the work, during a site visit, realized that the tool shed had to be upgraded and expanded as soon as possible.

“It is an urgently needed measure,” said the BVW parliamentary group chairman, Josef Praller.

"The situation in the tool shed is extremely cramped," confirmed Fritz Schnaller (SPD).

Town hall chief Klaus Heilinglechner (BVW) pointed out that he and the town councilors could not pat each other on the shoulders if a firefighter was not only at risk of injury during deployment, but also in a too narrow tool shed.

Buxbaum agreed and reminded the community that, not least, the health protection of the volunteer workers must be kept in mind.

The planner's first draft met with approval

The design by the Weidach engineer met with approval from the committee.

It is based on the space program according to DIN 140921 (fire station planning principles), emphasized Buxbaum.

That is the prerequisite for state funding, which, however, will be "very manageable".

Buxbaum does not expect more than around 50,000 euros - because the government of Upper Bavaria is likely to only support the creation of two new parking spaces for emergency vehicles in this specific case.

Among other things, he has planned a vehicle hall with the aforementioned two parking spaces on the ground floor, plus a changing area, a toilet system and an alarm room.

A lecture hall, an office, a multifunctional room and a teaching material room can be found on the upper floor of the extension building.

The basement includes storage space and is connected to the ground floor by a freight elevator.

The required parking spaces as well as the new driveway “will be adapted and redesigned as part of this,” explained the planner.

Cost estimate: 2.5 million euros

According to the cost estimate, 2.3 million must be made available for the extension, i.e. 1.2 million euros for the building and around 650,000 euros for the technical equipment.

Another 200,000 euros for “adaptation work and energy measures in the existing building,” explained Heilinglechner, the Wehr's employer.

Lots of money, noted Dr.

Hans Schmidt (Greens) - which Buxbaum justified with the high technical and fire-fighting requirements.

When asked by Gerlinde Berchtold (SPD), he reported that all planning had been coordinated with the Wolfratshauser fire brigade.

“It's a solution for decades,” said Schnaller.

The roof fire in the old town a few days ago showed "how important the fire brigade is".

The next steps: The engineering office Buxbaum approaches the input planning and creates a cost calculation.
