On the occasion of Christmas, a charity bazaar was opened this evening in the St. Cyril of the Melkite Catholic Church in Al-Qasaa, Damascus.

The bazaar continues until next Sunday and includes holiday decorations, handicrafts, crochet, clothing, sweets, drinks, food, icons, paintings and accessories.

During the opening of the bazaar, Bishop Nicolas Anteba, Patriarchal Vicar General of the Patriarchate of Antioch and the rest of the East for the Greek Melkite Catholics, spoke about the sublime meanings of the glorious Christmas and the message of love, humanity and mercy that Christ preached in order for us to live a better life in which peace and lasting brotherhood prevail, as well as joy and happiness, indicating that the bazaar is a step To enhance the fraternal spirit among people in these circumstances and to spread joy and love during the days of Eid, given that the proceeds are provided to charities and the poor.

Anteba bids to God that peace and security prevail in the land of Syria and that its people, army, and its leader be protected from all harm.

The Bazaar Organization, Elissar Mimari, indicated that its aim is to provide assistance to needy families in light of these difficult economic conditions, explaining that the number of participants in the bazaar reached about 50, in addition to three charitable societies participating in the midst of commitment to measures to address the Corona epidemic, including sterilizing the hall, putting masks and spacing between tables.

Participants in the bazaar confirmed that it constitutes an opportunity to market their products and introduce visitors to them, as well as learn about their needs, desires and tastes, as Ruwaida Maarawi indicated that she participates in a group of sweets and Eid foods whose proceeds go to the sisterhood of the women of the Church of Cyril, while Mrs. Cecil Salhani said that she participates annually in the Christmas Bazaar through Presentation of wax crafts inlaid with copper and wood, which embody the symbols of Christmas.

Wafaa Habib pointed out that she offers a range of accessories and Eid cakes, while Shady Skaf said that he participates in olive wood crafts, "rings and icons." As for Fadi Zakhm, he indicated that he offered various types of Eid drinks, chocolate and handicrafts, considering that the bazaar is an opportunity to spread joy among people and celebrate Eid. .

Visitors Ibrahim Jojo, Adil Qaytim and Sarah Hasik expressed their admiration for the exhibits in the bazaar and the new ideas presented in relation to handicrafts and handicrafts, and they praised the beautiful atmosphere that Damascus lives in during the month of Christmas, stressing that Syria is worthy of nothing but joy.
