Despite Trump's opposition: Congress approved a $ 740 billion defense budget
More than two-thirds of Senate members voted in favor of the budget, thus gaining the majority needed to circumvent the president's possible veto.
Trump protested against the proposal due to his demand to include a clause that includes sanctions on Facebook and Twitter, and to remove a clause that would change the names of bases named after generals in the Civil War

At least 75 members of the U.S. Senate today (Friday) voted in favor of the $ 740 billion annual defense budget.
In doing so, the budget was approved by a majority of more than two-thirds of one hundred legislators, needed to circumvent President Donald Trump's possible veto.
The defense budget has been approved by the Senate for 59 consecutive years.
Since the proposal was also approved in the House of Representatives by a similar majority, budget supporters hope Trump, who opposes it, will change his position.
