After the half sanction of the legal abortion project, the Chamber of Deputies began to discuss this Friday morning the approval

of the Thousand Days Plan

for the protection of pregnant women and the first years of childhood.

Like the Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy (IVE) initiative, the project was submitted to Congress on November 17 by President Alberto Fernández.

Through the Thousand Days Plan, it is proposed to

accompany those women who decide to go ahead with their pregnancies

so that vulnerability is not an impediment if there is a desire to continue the pregnancy.

"The project of the Thousand Days and that of legal abortion are in close dialogue because in both proposals it is

stated

that the State must accompany all women and pregnant persons

in the life projects they choose,

" said the minister. of Women, Gender and Diversity, Elizabeth Gómez Alcorta.

The draft of the Law of the Thousand Days

obtained an opinion unanimously

on

Wednesday

in the plenary session of the Commissions for Social Action and Public Health and Budget of the Chamber of Deputies, chaired by official legislators Pablo Yedlin and Carlos Heller.

Among the main points of the plan is the need to "

reduce mortality, malnutrition and malnutrition

, protect early relationships, physical and emotional development and health in a comprehensive manner, and prevent violence."

In addition, it proposes creating a

new Assignment for Comprehensive Health Care

, which would be charged once a year for each child under three years of age who complies with the mandatory vaccination plan and the national health program, and the extension of the Pregnancy Allowance,

which it would go from six to nine monthly payments

.

Another of the central points of the project is the

public and free provision of essential supplies

for women and pregnant people during pregnancy and for boys and girls up to three years of age, these being essential medicines, vaccines, milk and food.

Finally, the Thousand Days plan establishes a

new model of birth certificate

for the Renaper to quickly grant the DNI and with an exemption from fees for vulnerable situations.
