after a test flight.
The private US space company was nevertheless satisfied with the test flight in the south of the state of Texas: “Super test.
Congratulations to the Starship crew, ”SpaceX wrote about a picture of the remains of the rocket.
Starship will one day bring astronauts to Mars.

The launch of the rocket prototype went correctly on Wednesday.
After the rocket had flown a distance in a straight line, the three drives were switched off one after the other.

4 minutes and 45 seconds
, the missile began landing.
During the landing maneuver, the drives were activated again in order to bring the missile into the correct position.
Apparently the drives reacted too strongly, so that the impact was too violent.
One of the engines exploded, turning the missile into a ball of fire.
SpaceX founder Elon Musk * emphasized the successful stages of the test flight: the take-off, the change of position during the flight and the precision of the landing approach.
“Mars, here we are,”
the space pioneer tweeted exuberantly.
SpaceX had previously stated on its website that such test flights are primarily about learning.
Musk is satisfied: "We got all the data we need."
The
Starship prototype
had previously
climbed
to a height of around
12.5 kilometers
.
On Tuesday, a start attempt was canceled only 1.3 seconds before the planned start due to a problem with the engine.
In the previous tests, the prototypes were only shot up to around 150 meters.
The SpaceX founder wants to make Starship completely reusable.
In SpaceX's current Falcon rockets, only some of the steps land back on earth to be used again.
