Netanyahu on the agreement with Morocco: "This is a great light for Israel in honor of Hanukkah, thank you to President Trump" (Photo: GPO)

The day after the first polls after Gideon Saar's explosion, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was busier than ever: With Eden Ben Zaken.

In between, he held an hour-long cabinet meeting on the corona with debates and confrontations with blue-and-white ministers over Hanukkah restrictions, and for dessert - announced a historic normalization agreement with Morocco.

This is a farewell gift from the Trump administration, just before the Democrats arrive at the White House.

As always, the gift from Trump came at the right timing, and will ensure he stars in the headlines of the weekend newspapers.

Morocco is the fourth country that Netanyahu adds to the peace chain at the end of Trump's term, but the first with such a direct and deep personal-family-emotional connection to large sections of the Israeli public, including many of his constituents.

Makes it clear that normalization is only his.

As always, this time too he excluded Defense Minister Bnei Gantz and Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi from the dramatic political development.

He has hidden from them the agreements with the Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan and the secret trip to Saudi Arabia, he prevents them from traveling to visit the new destinations before him, and makes sure that it is clear that normalization is only his.

Even for vaccines he does not let them get close.

There are less than two weeks left until the Knesset dissolves for a fourth election.

Netanyahu could have taken advantage of the peace spirits from Morocco to extend an olive branch to Gantz, and signal a desire to initiate relations for a healthy and functioning partnership.

he is not.

The exotic photos from the dunes in Dubai and the palaces in Casablanca, along with queues of vaccinators at the HMOs, are supposed to support the next election campaign in which Netanyahu, an Arab man, and also the king of vaccines will star.

He maintains exclusivity and exclusivity, to be the only one in the frame.

On the vaccine platform and normalization, Netanyahu is once again building a "different league" campaign with which he maintained his rule and power for three election campaigns.

Just not sure that what worked in the past will work this time as well.

The warm welcome to Saar's new party in the polls heralds a new political reality, in which there is a clear and real danger to his rule.

To this day, Netanyahu has managed to create an almost complete identity between right and left and the question of "yes or no Bibi," and only Avigdor Lieberman has crossed the lines.

Now Saar joins him, in a move that shatters the boundaries of the familiar blocs and creates a new map, where even on the right there is "just not Bibi."

Already in the first polls, an opening was created for a variety of coalition scenarios between him and Bennett, Lapid and Lieberman, which could be linked to his removal.

In the new reality created by Saar, Gantz is not expecting good news either.

In blue and white, they hoped that the militant line against the Likud in the Knesset would strengthen their momentum ahead of the election, but Saar's new party destroyed their plans.

The right also has "just not Bibi".

With only 7-5 seats, blue and white is a very bad place to start a campaign, with a real danger of deteriorating below the blocking percentage;

This means that if there are indeed elections now, Gantz and his friends have very little chance of surviving in their current configuration.

And yet, a large portion of blue-and-white members would rather commit suicide with dignity on their sword than continue to quarrel and absorb humiliation from the Likud in the corrupt unity government.

Netanyahu in danger of losing power, Gantz in danger of erasure - in a rational world this was supposed to strengthen their interest in settling down and finding a solution that would prevent elections.

In practice - there is an almost complete disconnect between the parties, an escalation of battles in the government and the Knesset, and there is not much time left for a solution.

There are a variety of creative proposals on the table for voting on the budget, postponing the rotation or exchanging cases, but neither bridges the great chasm between the two sides: Netanyahu refuses to commit to realizing the rotation, and Gantz is unwilling to give it up.

They both take the risk that the explosion of a storm will lead them to the brink of an abyss.

In the name of values, Handel and Hauser made a cynical political turn

One of the common nicknames of the bad duo Yoaz Handel and Zvika Hauser is Hansel and Gretel.

Like the protagonists of the famous children's fairy tale, also known by its changed name, Ami and Tami, who walked hand in hand in the frightening forest, so Handel and Hauser walk together for almost a decade in the depths of Israeli politics;

Netanyahu's office party Telem Moshe Ya'alon blue and white of Ganz, and now the new party has no name yet Gideon Sa'ar.

Like Hansel and Gretel who found themselves in the woods scary after their parents poorest sent them out to look for food, Hauser and Hendel started their political careers cruel expulsion From the house in Balfour. In early 2012, after exposing the exploits of Natan Eshel and the suspicions of sexual harassment in the Prime Minister's Office. Netanyahu showed them the way out and effectively blocked the most natural political path for them - the Likud.

After a few years in the dark, Sweets and candies - blue and white - which offered them pampering tuffins - two senior seats in the ruling party, with both of them playing a key and crucial role in thwarting its key promise - Netanyahu's replacement of Gantz as prime minister.

Many influenced blue and white.

So far the analogy: Hauser and Handel joining Saar's new party was a welcome move, closing the circle and returning to their natural place on the right.

As usual, they spoke about the rift in the people, the incitement and incitement, and justified everything with a state and values explanation.

This was the reason why they joined Blue and White about two years ago, and also the reason why they justified their consistent opposition to the government in support of the joint list, which twice prevented Magnz from exercising the parliamentary majority that could bring him to power.

This was also the reason why they called for the dismantling of blue and white in favor of unity with Netanyahu, and also the reason why they presented the "Hauser compromise", which allowed him to postpone the transfer of the budget and hold him hostage to evade rotation.

In the name of values and statehood, Handel and Hauser also made a cynical, sophisticated and even impressive political round.

Especially because as far as is known - they have no autonomous power of their own.

They went into blue and white with Ya'alon, who until then had not passed the blocking percentage, and "Derech Eretz" has not risen above him in any poll in recent months.

Still, for nearly a year they were able to route the path of blue and white and influence Ganz's decision-making at all crucial nodes.

They took to the end the role of the "right wing" to which they were cast in a blue-and-white campaign, and were sent to studios to fend off and deny the Likud's claims of collaborations with the joint.

Left without most of his party.

In the moment of truth - they remained true to their promise, even at the cost of violating the other promise - to replace Netanyahu.

Their stop sign left Gantz with no effective choice or threat.

Now, after two years Gantz was the most suitable man in the country to replace Netanyahu, they handed over the crown to someone else and reached a safe shore that would save them from the blocking percentage.

In contrast to Saar, who resigned from the Knesset and relinquished the Likud mandate in whose name he was elected, Hauser and Handel cling to their seats.

In March, under the auspices of a blue-and-white split, they defected from Ya'alon's mother party and maneuvered a political-parliamentary exercise to form an independent faction, in which no one could fire or control them, and along the way also amended the law to get party funding.

Thus, although they are part of a blue and white block, they do not necessarily obey the block block.

Just this week, Hauser cooperated with the Likud in opposing the equality law that Blue and White approved in a preliminary reading in the plenum.

Handel was less blunt and simply absent from the plenum.

After announcing their joining the storm, Minister Merav Cohen called on them to resign from their positions in the Ministry of Communications and headed by the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.

Ganz, meanwhile, is in no hurry to require them to vacate the jobs in which they sit on his behalf, preferring to keep them happy - and on his side.
