Saturday Night Live
focused on the latest developments in Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine this Saturday, noting that while it is a good thing for the country,
many Americans may not get it for long
.
Our sister network NBC's show opened with a parody
of CNN's
newscast
Situation Room
, featuring host Wolf Blitzer, played by Beck Bennett.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (played by actress Kate McKinnon) and Dr. Deborah Birx, coordinator of the White House coronavirus response team, (starring Heidi Gardner) answered the questions. Blitzer questions.
The
parody version of Fauci
had to avoid the attentions of fans who believe that it is a
sex symbol
because it
is one of the few authorities that has highlighted the severity of the virus from the beginning.
"During all this time," he said, "I am the only one communicating facts, so some have an infatuation for me."
He also proudly announced that he will join President-Elect Joe Biden's Administration.
"I think I will also join," said the character played by Birx, who also pointed out one of his alleged actions in good faith.
"Remember when Trump said that you had to inject chlorine and I made a slightly disgusted face and almost whispered no?" He joked in reference to the moment that happened a few months ago, which was recorded by the cameras.
Fauci's character, actress Kate McKinnon, put a positive spin on the fact that the UK approved the Pfizer vaccine before the US.
“We're doing like with World War II,” he joked, “we let England go first, see what happens.
And then we swooped in at the end and stole the scene. "

most vulnerable to complications from COVID-19
that can lead to death, will be next.

The show's news segment,
Weekend Update,
lashed out at President Donald Trump for
continuing to fail to acknowledge his defeat in the November election
.
"Guys, I have to be honest, I'm starting to think that Donald Trump didn't win this election," said co-host Colin Jost.
"This week, the Supreme Court dismissed two different [electoral] lawsuits. They were the first Supreme Court rulings that consisted only of putting the emoji with a bored face."
In addition, he
joked about the president's campaign for continuing to solicit donations
.
"He's a billionaire and he keeps asking his followers for sums of like five dollars," Jost said, "isn't that sad?"
