Damascus-Sana

On every new day, our people in the occupied Syrian Golan affirm that they will maintain their commitment to the Syrian national identity and that the Golan was and will remain a Syrian Arab, stressing that the ill-fated decision of the Israeli occupation entity to annex the Golan 39 years ago is null and void and will remain ink on paper.

From the first moment of the fateful decision issued by the occupation authorities on the fourteenth of December 1981, our people in the occupied Golan faced the Israeli arbitrary measures and thwarted the implementation of the administrative provisions of this invalid decision against them, adhering to the "national document" that they issued on the 25th of March of the same year and affirmed That the occupied Golan is an integral part of Syria, and that the Syrian Arab nationality is an inherent and permanent quality.

On the fourteenth of February 1982, our people in the occupied Golan carried out a national strike against the occupier that lasted six months to reject the sinister annexation decision and the attempts to impose the "Israeli identity", which led to complete paralysis in the various areas of the occupied Golan and massive demonstrations through which the people of the Golan were able to impose their rejectionist will. Boycott this racist decision.

“A void decision and will remain just ink on paper” is a principle affirmed by our people in the Golan during their resistance, which was met by the occupation with iron and fire. For homes, widespread arrests of elderly, young men and women, cutting off water and electricity, and preventing food supplies from citizens, amid a media blackout on what is happening.

On the seventeenth of December 1981, the UN Security Council issued Resolution No. 497, which rejects the ill-fated Israeli annexation decision altogether and considers it null and void and affirms the identity of the Syrian Arab Golan.

The dean of the freed prisoners, Sidqi al-Maqt, emphasized on more than one occasion the adherence of the occupied Syrian Golan to their land and their Syrian Arab identity and to continue to defend their land against the Israeli occupation to thwart all its Judaization plans until the liberation of the entire occupied Golan and its return to its motherland, Syria.

Today, the people of the Golan renew in words and deeds that root them in their land and continue the path of struggle to liberate the land and confront the aggressive measures and plans of the Israeli occupier. This was evident a few days ago with a general and comprehensive strike of all life facilities during their confrontation with the plans of the occupation entity, the establishment of giant wind turbines on their agricultural lands, as they confirmed last year their categorical rejection of the American President’s announcement. Donald Trump on the Golan Heights and the so-called "local council elections", renewing their adherence to Syrian land and rights.
