Former Hong Kong National Party convener Chen Haotian was accused of participating in an illegal assembly after the "Recovery of Sheung Shui" parade in July last year, and suspected of slapping the helmet of a plain-clothed police officer. He was charged with illegal assembly and assaulting the police. He was tried earlier.

Magistrate Wang Shili made a ruling at the West Kowloon Court today (12th), saying that the offender could not be determined as the defendant and ruled that Chen was not guilty of both crimes.

The defendant, Chen Haotian (30 years old), was charged with assembling unidentified persons at the junction of San Wan Road and Chi Cheong Road in Sheung Shui on July 13 last year, and assaulting Police Chief Sergeant Chen Guoshen.

Police Chief Chen Guoshen confessed earlier that at 5 o'clock in the afternoon that day, in response to the clamor of someone near the Sheung Shui Plaza, and received instructions to wear riot gear, he went to the Sheung Shui Center parking lot to contract the equipment.

Later, colleagues intercepted and searched the two teenagers. After the two were released, the onlookers still remained.

As people at the scene kept clamoring, Chen was worried that he would be attacked and decided to leave in the direction of Shangshui Station.

However, during the retreat, Chen felt that someone slapped the helmet, causing "the helmet to shift slightly and shake it."

Chen Xun turned around and witnessed a white-skinned man shrinking his hands to his waist. The man was wearing thick dark-rimmed glasses and a black mask, wearing a black shirt and green pants.

As the onlookers opened the umbrella, the man "disappeared in the shadows" within a few seconds.

Chen later walked to a higher planter with his colleagues to defend, but was still attacked.

The video showed that the police officers were followed by a large group of people, including Chen Haotian.

Chen Zeng stretched his hand forward, but the camera did not capture where he reached.
